If I had a comment card...

"You look like a chaplain. It's in your face."

"I don't mean to offend you, but aren't you kind of young for a chaplain?"

"There's something about you. It's like there's a little light inside you. That's how God is using you."

"Thanks for praying with me. I didn't hear most of what you said, but thanks."

"Are you a pharmacist? You don't belong here."

Hey, I stumbled upon this (well facebook helped, but you know)...

and, just starting as a social worker with children here in Baltimore, my absolute favorite one is definitely the "being too young" piece... two days ago, someone from the Department of Social Services said, "Oh my, you're just a BABY..." and it's not the first time I've heard something like that...

I have jokingly begun to contemplate, the next time anyone talks to me about age, saying, "Maybe it's just because you're getting older that I look so young..."

The last one confuses me. Was this person implying that you did not belong there because you were a pharmacist? Are there a lot of places in hospitals where pharmacists are simply not allowed to go? Are pharmacists second-class citizens in hospitals, forever confined to certain, clearly-labeled areas under the threat of a punishment too terrible to contemplate? I hope so. That'll teach them to be so damn stingy with their drugs.
